This September I photographed a family session at Sciota Mill in Pennsylvania—my sister, her husband, and their 16-month-old daughter, Hadley. The mill’s rustic charm and the soft September light made it a great spot for fall family photography in PA, with early autumn colors providing a simple, timeless backdrop for their portraits.

Some of my favorite moments came from just watching Hadley explore—toddling through the grass, reaching for her parents, and laughing as she discovered the crunch of leaves beneath her feet. Capturing these small, natural interactions is what I love most about family photography in Pennsylvania, especially in the fall, when the light and atmosphere feel relaxed and warm.
